Creating the Ultimate Craft Platform
The Design & Craft Council Ireland (DCCI), the national agency representing Irish designers and makers, required a complete website revamp. Their existing site was intricate, disorganised, and unfocused. To address these issues, they wanted to develop a streamlined platform that embodies their vision of positioning Ireland as a premier design and craft hub for members and the wider public.

The Approach

Crafting a User-First Methodology

Conducting extensive research to grasp DCCI's objectives and target audience enabled them to focus on key strategic pillars, emphasising a seamless user experience, cost efficiency, advocacy, and brand differentiation.

The primary focus was on enhancing user experience by revamping the information architecture, implementing logical navigation, and creating clear engagement pathways. Content was strategically surfaced, allowing users to navigate effortlessly without relying solely on the menu.

Visual appeal was essential. I introduced a cohesive visual style, utilising images, videos, and storytelling techniques. This approach showcased Irish crafts effectively, reinforcing DCCI's vision.

COntent Audit

Surfacing Quality Content in a Compelling Experience.

Content underwent extensive optimisation, emphasising storytelling and showcasing DCCI's activities and member works. The result? A visually engaging directory celebrating creativity.

The revamped online presence allows DCCI to showcase Irish design depth to stakeholders and the government. Built on flexible technology, it's poised for future innovation, enabling sub-brand hosting and reducing costs.

Through the CMS adaptable campaign templates were created to facilitate events without the need for additional websites.

The intro sequence, micro animations, and interactions were meticulously designed to ensure a seamless experience for visitors. The motion design and concept were crafted to enhance the experience without obstructing the content or slowing down the user.
